Ramzan Food Packages Program
Sharing Care, Compassion, and Community Support
During the blessed month of Ramzan, Friends of Paraplegics (FOP) extends a special initiative to support families of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) who often face financial hardships and food insecurity. The Ramzan Food Packages Program aims to provide essential food supplies to ensure that every family can observe the holy month with dignity, peace, and comfort.
Purpose of the Program
Many PwD households rely on limited or irregular income, which makes managing daily living expenses difficult—especially during Ramzan. This program helps ease the burden and ensures that families can focus on the spiritual essence of the month instead of worrying about basic necessities.
What We Provide
Each Ramzan food package typically includes a range of essential grocery items:
- Flour
- Rice
- Pulses & Grains
- Sugar
- Cooking Oil
- Tea
- Dates
- Spices
Packages are prepared based on the needs of families to support them throughout the month.
Doorstep Distribution
To ensure accessibility and inclusion, FOP prioritizes doorstep delivery, especially for wheelchair users and individuals with limited mobility. Our team and volunteers personally distribute packages in urban as well as remote rural areas across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Impact
Alhamdulillah, with the support of generous donors and partners, FOP has successfully distributed hundreds of Ramzan food packages every year, reaching:
- Persons with Spinal Cord Injuries
- Women with Disabilities
- Children with Congenital Disabilities
- Families living below the poverty line
- Individuals in remote villages
- Underserved communities
This act of support not only fulfills immediate needs but also strengthens the spirit of solidarity and compassion during the holy month.
