IDPD 2017 was organized by Friends of Paraplegics (FOP) in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Theme of the event was “Ability Sports Festival”. Government departments including Special Education,Disable People Organizations (DPOs), ICRC’s PRP partners and other non-government &private sector organizations actively participated in making the day vibrant and successful. More than 20 disabled people organizations were involved and multiplied their capacity in organizingthe healthy participation from different corners of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a united pattern.
IDPD 2017enabled versatile participation of more than 4000 people. “At Peshawar Ability Sports Festivel, no mountain too high for over 400 brave hearts.
We, at FOP, shall be more than glad to furnish any necessary documentation and/or records upon request. Your time and consideration in this matter shall prove invaluable to countless lives that this proposal intends to touch.
Proposed Activities for IDPD-2018
EVENT CELEBRATION WITH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
- T-10 Wheelchair cricket Tournament (04 National Teams) and two day matches
- Table Tennis (male standing, female wheelchair and male wheelchair category)
- Bocce (for severe disability engagement)
- Live Ludo for public engagement
- Open house and magic show for children
- Short duration games for kids
- Stalls of stakeholders
Demo of wheelchair cricket match for women with disabilities subject to availability of players.
FoP will act as an implementing partner independently with financial assistance and support of ICRC. All physical rehabilitation stakeholders will be equally involved.
